Holiday Cottage with sea views on the West Coast of Scotland

Island View is a beautifully renovated property with large rooms and huge picture windows showing off spectacular sea views. Set in a private, one acre garden this holiday cottage, sleeping 6, is on the Isle of Seil. Seil is connected to the mainland by the old 'Bridge over the Atlantic', just 15 miles from Oban on the West Coast of Scotland.

Enjoy cosy nights relaxing beside the wood-burning stove and during the day sit in front of the large picture window in the sitting room looking out over seven islands, fishing boats and the sparkling sea. Just sitting watching the constantly changing weather and view up and down the Sound of Seil makes this a genuinely restful retreat. With the binoculars we provide, you can see the oyster catchers and curlew on the shore and the sea eagles that regularly fly over the garden and perhaps spot a golden eagle.

The spacious dining room also has a huge window with magnificent views out over the garden and the sea to the wooded hillside beyond which can be admired whilst eating.

The large, bright country kitchen is very well equipped and is also an enjoyable space to sit whilst chatting with the cook and looking at the view.

There are two large, light bedrooms upstairs with king size beds and beautiful window seats where you can snuggle up with a blanket, good book and a cup of tea whilst enjoying the mesmerising views. Both bedrooms are ensuite (one with a bath and shower and the other with a large walk-in shower).

The comfortable, downstairs twin bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with large shower. Nesting boxes have been installed outside the bedroom window so hours can be spent in the spring and summer watching the birds come and go. The room is perfect for anyone with limited mobility who will be able to access all of the downstairs rooms and the ramp to the front door is convenient for everyone.

Outside, wander in the large garden and dine out on the south facing deck taking time to truly unwind. Enjoy a BBQ on the long nights around midsummer (when it is still possible to read a newspaper at midnight) or in darker months watch the millions of stars in this low light pollution area and if you are lucky, you may see the Northern Lights.

There are interesting walks straight from the door where you may see otters and deer as well as the varied birdlife.

Everything has been carefully chosen to make your stay extremely comfortable, relaxing and truly memorable.

Island View is a pet-free accommodation. No dogs have ever been in our holiday cottage to ensure peace of mind for anyone with allergies.

Island View is perfect for a tranquil getaway or for an active break with the many varied local activities available and guests may find it difficult to leave this peaceful haven at the end of their holiday.

Despite our holiday coinciding with storm Ashley, we've had a peaceful and relaxing time in this wonderful house. We have enjoyed the stunning views from the comfort of the cosy, gorgeous sitting room. Big thanks to Claire and Lorne for providing the personal touch.

Wonderful, comfortable, immaculately clean holiday house! Don't think we've ever stayed in such a lovely holiday property. Magical views every day and we've been lucky with some beautiful weather.

Everything you want and with a very high standard of furnishings. Absolutely love looking at the view from the picture windows and watching the colours change across the water. The sunset colours were particularly spectacular.

Perfect and spotless accommodation, perfect view, Claire and Lorne have thought of everything. The information book was extremely helpful. The negative is that we have to leave and go home.

We saw seals, dolphins, guillemots, razor bills, black throated diver and a white tailed eagle. It has been wonderful to see wildlife from the picture window beside the fire (thank you for the logs).
