Holiday Cottage with sea views on the West Coast of Scotland

Island View is a beautifully renovated property with large rooms and huge picture windows showing off spectacular sea views. Set in a private, one acre garden this holiday cottage, sleeping 6, is on the Isle of Seil. Seil is connected to the mainland by the old 'Bridge over the Atlantic', just 15 miles from Oban on the West Coast of Scotland.

Enjoy cosy nights relaxing beside the wood-burning stove and during the day sit in front of the large picture window in the sitting room looking out over seven islands, fishing boats and the sparkling sea. Just sitting watching the constantly changing weather and view up and down the Sound of Seil makes this a genuinely restful retreat. With the binoculars we provide, you can see the oyster catchers and curlew on the shore and the sea eagles that regularly fly over the garden and perhaps spot a golden eagle.

The spacious dining room also has a huge window with magnificent views out over the garden and the sea to the wooded hillside beyond which can be admired whilst eating.

The large, bright country kitchen is very well equipped and is also an enjoyable space to sit whilst chatting with the cook and looking at the view.

There are two large, light bedrooms upstairs with king size beds and beautiful window seats where you can snuggle up with a blanket, good book and a cup of tea whilst enjoying the mesmerising views. Both bedrooms are ensuite (one with a bath and shower and the other with a large walk-in shower).

The comfortable, downstairs twin bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with large shower. Nesting boxes have been installed outside the bedroom window so hours can be spent in the spring and summer watching the birds come and go. The room is perfect for anyone with limited mobility who will be able to access all of the downstairs rooms and the ramp to the front door is convenient for everyone.

Outside, wander in the large garden and dine out on the south facing deck taking time to truly unwind. Enjoy a BBQ on the long nights around midsummer (when it is still possible to read a newspaper at midnight) or in darker months watch the millions of stars in this low light pollution area and if you are lucky, you may see the Northern Lights.

There are interesting walks straight from the door where you may see otters and deer as well as the varied birdlife.

Everything has been carefully chosen to make your stay extremely comfortable, relaxing and truly memorable.

Island View is currently pet free accommodation. No dogs have ever been in our holiday cottage to ensure peace of mind for anyone with allergies. We will review this policy annually so if you have a dog please check with us in the future.

What an amazing place with fantastic views! We have thoroughly enjoyed our week here and the kids have particularly enjoyed the huge garden. We have seen so much wildlife right here at the cottage- rabbits, hedgehogs, buzzards and deer. The cottage had everything we needed. Thanks again,

A beautiful house in a stunning location. The house is well equipped and so cosy. The views are breathtaking and we have enjoyed watching the changing weather come in up the coast. We have enjoyed watching the rabbits in the garden, along with the buzzards circling overhead.

The house, the garden, the views are all stunning! Quite frankly we dont want to leave. Ever. The ever changing weather has been a wonder to behold as the view changes with it! We have been on most of the walks suggested in the Guest Book, all of which are really good! Thank you to Lorne and Claire for their 5 star hospitality and unforgettable stay!

Thank you Claire and Lorne for providing this fabulous place and being such helpful hosts. We have had a superb holiday with hot, sunny weather for the entire week. We have especially enjoyed swimming, relaxing and seeing the pair of White tailed eagles fly right over the garden! We will be back!

We have had a fantastic stay here- truly magical. Everything has been perfect- including the wall to wall sunshine! A lot of hard work and thought has gone into this place which is what makes it so comfortable and easy to be here.
